St. Peter's Church

St. Peter's Church: A Beacon of Christian Faith in Jaffa

St. Peter's Church has long served as a spiritual lighthouse for pilgrims arriving by sea to the Holy Land. Positioned prominently in Jaffa, it continues to hold deep meaning for Christians traveling to the Holy Land today. This sacred site honors St. Peter, one of Jesus’ closest disciples. It was Peter to whom Jesus said, “And I tell you that you are Peter, and on this rock I will build my church” (Matthew 16:18), affirming Peter’s foundational role in the Christian church.

Church of the Beatitudes

The Church of the Beatitudes: A Sacred Site Above Galilee

The famous and scenic Church of the Beatitudes stands atop the serene Mount of Beatitudes. Built between 1936 and 1938 by renowned architect Antonio Barluzzi, this sacred chapel honors the site traditionally believed to be where Jesus preached the life-changing Sermon on the Mount (Matthew 5–7).

You’ll visit this holy and tranquil site on the 5th day of our signature Christian pilgrimage Holy Land Tour of Israel. Many pilgrims describe their visit here as one of the most memorable and spiritually moving moments in their journey through the Holy Land.

Jordan River baptism

Qasr el Yahud: The Historic Baptism Site on the Jordan River

Qasr el Yahud is a baptism site in the Jordan River Valley region of the West Bank, claimed by the State of Palestine and under Israeli occupation. Because of political sensitivities and access restrictions, most Christian pilgrims today choose to visit the more accessible Yardenit Baptismal Site during their Christian escorted tours to Israel. Yet, Qasr el Yahud remains the site most closely linked to the baptism of Jesus Christ, a spiritual moment that forever changed Christian history.

The Church of All Nations: A Sacred Christian Landmark

The Church of All Nations, also known as the Basilica of the Agony, is a Roman Catholic Church located on the Mount of Olives, beside the Garden of Gethsemane. This sacred site is a highlight of our Holy Land tour. It is built over a bedrock that, according to Christian tradition, marks the very place where Jesus prayed in deep anguish before His arrest (Mark 14:32–42).
