Perched on top of Mount Carmel, overlooking the Mediterranean Sea, Haifa is Israel’s third largest city. It has Israel’s largest port, thriving industries, institutions of higher learning and many interesting museums. Haifa is especially well-known for the harmonious interaction among the different faiths, Jewish, Muslim, Christian, and is World Center of the Bahai Faith.
During your Christian Holy Land Israel tour we’ll stop at Mount Carmel for a spectacular view of Haifa Bay. Mount Carmel is a coastal mountain range in northern Israel stretching from the Mediterranean Sea towards the southeast. A number of towns are located in this region, most notably the city of Haifa, Israel's third largest city, located on the northern slope. The 1500-foot high limestone mountain impeded armies and merchants traveling to the Jezreel Valley.
